We loved the house and how spacious it was! It had multiple decks with different options for entertainment, and the views were stunning!
I’m relatively new to Airbnb and did not purchase travel insurance. A few days before we were supposed to arrive at the cabin my dad had a cardiac arrest. We contacted the host. We stated we didn’t have insurance but asked if there was anyway they could help us (refund, partial refund, rescheduling our week). Airbnb said they would approve a refund if the host gave written permission. The host would not give permission for any of those things. And if they respond to my review they will say they were following a clearly stated cancellation policy and they would be 100% correct. It was our fault. They were under no obligation to help us. But it would have greatly eased the burden of a family going through a hard time. We made it to the cabin 2 days of our 5 day reservation when we felt it was safe to do so. The cabin was nice. Views pretty. Cleanliness just okay to be honest. I could never book with this company in the future. It was a dark spot in an already difficult time.
Overall, this cabin was a nice place. Amazing views but close enough to the strip. Lots of fun amenities. Very clean. The host was responsive and generally helpful. After day 1, we noticed there was no hot water. We reached out, and the host had a maintenance person come out within 90 minutes. The maintenance person was able to get hot water on again briefly. We also noticed the dish washer gasket was busted and the metal was bent, making the dishwasher unusable. I mentioned it to the maintenance guy who took note and apologized but never fixed it. The next day, the hot water wasn’t working again. Host had another crew come out to fix tank. I asked for a nominal refund or discount for both inconveniences but was denied. Hot water and dishwasher seem like no brainers, so it didn’t seem like an unreasonable request. Host was responsive but more about keeping the full fee rather than making it right for the issues with basic amenities. Good trip. Disappointing experience with host.
